If you love to craft but are beginning to get overwhelmed with finished projects, one way to fulfill your crafting desires and keep your home free from craft clutter is to craft for charity. It doesn’t matter what type of craft you do; you can find a way to use it to help a charity.
Crafting for charity does not have to be a big production. You can take one item or one hundred and donate either the item itself or the proceeds from its sale to any number of charities. If you don’t have a cause in mind, try Googling “crafts for charity” or “<insert your craft here> for charity.” You will find many options.
Local places can use your crafts as well. Talk to local shelters, churches, crisis centers and locally based charities to see if they can use your craft items. If you want to create your own cause, consider starting your own charity. You should check with a lawyer to find out the legal requirements for setting one up first, however.
If you can’t find local resources to help you donate your crafts, create your own Facebook group for your area and start helping out people in need. This can work especially well if your particular craft creates an item those in need could make use of, such as knitted hats for cold winter climates or baby quilts to help pregnant teens.
However you choose to donate, crafting for charity is the perfect solution for keeping crafts out of your home while helping someone in need.
