DIY Clock Ideas

I came across a clock tutorial on Pinterest, and can’t wait to try it out myself.  Who would have thought that a simple paper plate could look so sleek with a couple of simple hands on it?  I have never ventured into that world, but I guess I didn’t know you could make a clock so easily, either.  This opens up so many possibilities!  So many things can be made into clocks, it will be fun to experiment.

To make your own paper plate clock, you need a paper plate, clock kit and pen.  The tutorial linked below has step by step photo instructions to help you, but basically, you will install a clock kit onto a paper plate and hang it using hook and loop or any other method.  I bet the whole thing would take less than 10 minutes, and it looks great!

Another great option is to take apart another clock and insert your own photos or paper to create a unique clock.  In fact, anything flat that ranges from one-quarter inch to three-quarters of an inch can be made into a clock.  Clock kits cost about $10 on Amazon, and come complete with the gear mechanism, hands and numbers.

An old book with missing pages could be recycled into an awesome clock, as could scrap plywood painted in your favorite design.  There really are so many choices when it comes to making your own clocks!
