Seashell wreath for kids

Seashell wreath for kids

Christmas is not the only time to place a wreath on your door. Wreaths can be made to coordinate with any of the four seasons. Kids can even get in on the action by making a seashell wreath.

You will need the following items to make your seashell wreath:
  • Large paper plate
  • Scissors
  • Hole punch
  • Yarn
  • Glue
  • Sand
  • Seashells
  • Glue gun

Follow these directions to make your seashell wreath:

Step 1:
Cut the center out of your paper plate, leaving the edges to form a wreath.

Step 2:
Punch a hole out of the top center of your paper plate wreath. Thread a piece of yarn through the hole. Create a circle out of the yarn and tie a knot at the end so that you can hang your wreath later on.

Step 3:
Cover the front of your wreath with a generous amount of glue. Sprinkle sand over the glue. Let the wreath dry.

Step 4:
Tap the wreath gently over a trash can to get rid of any excess glue. Do this only after the sand has dried.

Step 5:
Collect a variety of seashells from the beach. If you don't live near the seashore, try a craft store. Of course, if you want to stick with just one kind, you can. This is your wreath and you can decorate it any way you like.

Step 6:
Use a hot glue gun to attach your seashells to the sandy paper plate.

Step 7:
Wait for the hot glue to dry before hanging your seashell paper plate wreath.
